Can’t Edit Your Designs? Discover What WILCOM Workspace Is
WILCOM Workspace is a cloud-based embroidery viewer and editing tool that lets you visualize embroidery files, make basic adjustments, and manage your designs—without installing any software on your computer.
Key Benefits
- Works on MAC, PC, and tablets
- Perfect for embroidery businesses without an in-house designer
- Edit, rotate, resize, and export embroidery files easily
- Print production sheets with stitch details for machine operators
Important: This tool is not intended for creating new designs from scratch. It only allows editing of existing embroidery files.
Still Using TrueSizer? This Is the Official Replacement
Before Workspace, Wilcom TrueSizer was the go-to free tool for basic design edits. Workspace is now its official online replacement, offering the same functionality with modern improvements.
Design Doesn’t Fit the Garment? Use Workspace to Adjust It
Imagine downloading a design from the internet and needing to stitch it onto a t-shirt. The design is too small, and you need to scale it up. With the original .EMB file, Workspace allows you to resize while preserving stitch density and embroidery quality.
You can still edit other file types, but it’s recommended to stay within a ±10% size change to avoid compromising the design.
Why Not Edit Directly on the Embroidery Machine?
While it’s technically possible, it’s not advisable. Scaling a design directly on the machine often leads to poor results:
- Enlarged designs may have too few stitches
- Reduced designs may become overly dense, causing thread breaks or needle damage
Basic Embroidery Editing Tasks Made Easy
With Workspace, you can:
- Resize the design
- Rotate, flip horizontally or vertically
- Change measurement units (cm or inches)
- View key design info: size, stitch count, color changes, trims, and combinations
- Print a detailed production sheet for precise embroidery
- Export to the correct format for your machine (Brother, Janome, Tajima, etc.)

Explore Workspace – Learn Where Everything Is and What It Does
When you open a design:
- You’ll see a grid in centimeters as reference
- You can open, save, and export designs in different formats
- On the right panel, you’ll find:
- Stitch count
- Design dimensions
- Color changes
- Thread color combinations
You can also adjust colors depending on the fabric background (e.g., for stitching on a black shirt).
Easy Access to Tools for Previewing and Adjusting
- Show/hide grid
- Switch between centimeters and inches
- Zoom (for viewing only; doesn’t affect actual size)
- Full-screen view
- One-click actual size preview
- Flip horizontally or vertically
- Rotate at custom angles
- Resize by percentage or specific measurements (in mm)
Does Stitch Count Change When Resizing?
Yes. Workspace recalculates the number of stitches when scaling to maintain proper design quality.
Export Designs to the Right Format for Your Machine
Click “Convert design” and choose the appropriate file format:
- .PES for Brother
- .JEF for Janome
- .DST for Tajima and most industrial machines
Name your file (e.g., SpongeBob) and download it, ready for stitching.
